ESTRATÉGIAS DE CONTROLO DO ABSENTISMO LABORAL: Caso do Hospital Geral de Malanje

Absenteeism at work has been a problem in several institutions, particularly at Malanje Hospital, impacting the quality of service provision in this northern region, employee morale and organizational performance. This case makes us reflect on analyzing absenteeism control strategies, and as a starting question which strategies can be improved to face the local context. The present study is descriptive with a qualitative focus, interviews were carried out with operational staff managers, as it aims to identify the causes of absenteeism; analyze absenteeism control strategies and mention profiles and policies to minimize absenteeism at Malanje General Hospital. The results indicate that the causes are multifactorial, with emphasis on working conditions, demotivation, lack of vocation and logistical difficulties. Furthermore, implementing technological attendance systems and promoting a more motivating work environment are crucial strategies for reducing absenteeism in the hospital. The study contributes to a more in-depth understanding of work absenteeism in the Angolan context and proposes recommendations for improving human resources management in public health
