Importance of geological heritage: Nino Konis Santana National Park in Timor-Leste
Keywords:
Geological Heritage, East TimorAbstract
The present work proposes to bring a theoretical reflection on the importance of geological heritage, emphasizing the importance of preserving the memory and historical identity of Nino Konis Santana. From these reflections, the objective is to analyze the importance of the Geological Heritage with a focus on the Nino Konis Santana National Park area in Timor-Leste. Identifying the impacts and causes on the buildings in this park during the period of Indonesian occupation between 1975 and 2000 did not bring major developments in the knowledge of the geology of the onshore territory, especially studies carried out on offshore energy resources, namely with the discovery of oil fields and gas in the Timor Sea on the southern coast of the territory, to understand the damage caused to the memory through the adaptations suffered in the buildings during this period, accompanied by economic progress, gradual growth of the city and modernization to meet the new demands.
