English teaching aiming at communication: a challenge for rural areas (Mozambique)

Abstract
Language learning aims to develop social and communication skills, so that people can express their feelings and thoughts using the language; oral language is the common dimension in communication in the rural context. People can learn the language at home, in the community, as well as at school. The use of language in the perspective of communication requires the use of innovative strategies, contextualization and permanent motivation on the part of those involved. Awakening self-confidence, motivation and contextualized education we may be close to achieve the educational objectives of language teaching. In this perspective, the challenge is to teach English Language in rural areas. Mozambique is a multilingual country being the Portuguese the official language. Taking into account the political, economic and social contexts, national and international levels, the country sees the need to teach English in a communicative approach.
