Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the positions of teachers and students from public and private universities, correlating students' comments about the attitude of teachers in the classroom, with what teachers say about students. This research is qualitative in nature. An individual interview was applied to students and teachers through intentional sampling. Data were interpreted based on the interpretative approach. The study shows that a change in teacher attitude in the classroom can become an effective way to promote teacher communication, reporting benefits for the formation and development of student critical awareness.
