Abstract
This article refers to the concept of formative evaluation and its importance in the field of higher education. The opinions of different authors were analyzed in order to reach conclusions that highlight the necessity of carrying out transformations in the teaching-learning process to go from the traditional ways of evaluation to the concept of formative evaluation.
