Abstract
Pierre Bourdieu is one of the great sociologists of the twentieth century, recognized internationally, and one of the greatest contemporary thinkers to address the issue of education. This article presents the theory of Bourdieu on education in modern societies, in which appears a significant relationship between the school and the role of reproduction and legitimation of social inequalities in the context of capitalism. Then we propose a reflection on some aspects of Angolan social inequality in the light of Bourdieu's theory.
